YOUNG rockers have been going down a storm at music venues across the Dales with their original twist on old-school sounds.
Matlock and Wirksworth-based band Apollo Creed, made up of singer Jason Barker and drummer Bryony Walmsley, from former glam rock band Candy Apple Sour, along with bass player Joe Jameson, formerly of Joe Man Hater and guitarist Danny Bigland, formed at the end of last year.

The four-piece has already built up a reputation for getting the crowd on their toes, with legendary covers and original tunes inspired by classic rock bands such as Guns and Roses, Audioslave, Bush and Skid Row.

Singer Jason said the band was still developing its sound but fans could keep updated by logging on to their website.

He added: "We have recordings on there that were done live at The Big Acoustic in Rendezvous. We will be getting some demo recordings within a few months and professional recordings by the end of the year.

"Our set consists of mostly covers at the moment but we are steadily increasing our original material."

Apollo Creed will be at The Rising Sun in Middleton on March 14. They will also be playing an acoustic set on April 10 at The Boat Inn in Cromford and will be at Hopp Inn in Belper on April 11.
