POWER pop band The Souvenirs will be headlining a gig in Wirksworth.
The Midlands-based four-piece will be playing original music at the Red Lion's Band Xplosion club night on Friday April 3.

Their influences include Bob Dylan, The Kinks, Radiohead, The Smiths and Pulp.

Last year finished on a high note for the band after supporting The Pigeon Detectives and this year has included high profile gigs with indie favourites The Rakes, The Joy Formidable and The Rumble Strips.

They are also set to release new material, to be recorded at The Animal Farm Studios in London in April, as well as performing at Y Not Festival, near Matlock, in August.

Addictive pHilosopHy, 3-way Split and Bonsall band The Sinners will also be performing on Friday.

Doors open at 7.30pm and admission is £2.
