Rotarians have presented a rescue team with a cheque for £3,500 to help them continue their life–saving work.

The money for Derby Mountain Rescue team was raised by hundreds of fund–raisers taking part in the Dovedale Dipper challenge.

The event was organised by Cliff Cartwright, Simon Brister, Albert Ripamonti and Bill Darley from Matlock Rotary Club, who gave their thanks to all the participants and the support staff who took part on the day.

Kevin Corcoran and Nick Berry from Derby Mountain Rescue were presented with the cheque by club president Peter Wigglesworth .

The next Dovedale Dipper Challenge walk is scheduled for August 4, 2013, and full details of both the challenge marathon walk and the shorter 15 mile ramble can be found by visiting www.matlockrotary.com.

The website also has information on joining the club.
