Workers had a shock when they uncovered discarded mortar bombs in a quarry.

Dan Doxey his son Julian, and colleague Roy Holmes were clearing a sand quarry when they cut through one of three discarded bombs with their mechanical shovel.

Julian, 19, of Middleton–by–Wirksworth, and Roy, of Matlock, were happy when bomb disposal experts later removed the mortars.
