Film-lovers have decided to bring a full programme of movies to their village, after a successful launch night.
Tansley Film Club showed its first ever film in February, with about 50 people enjoying Fred Schepisi's award-winning drama Last Orders.

The positive reactions have convinced the club committee to bring one film a month to Tansley Village Hall.

Club secretary Chris Knightley said: "The film club is a major arts initiative for our community that will open up opportunities for people of all ages and mobility to access quality cinema on their doorstep.

"Apart from its cultural role, the club will have an important social function, giving everyone the chance to make new friends.

"The club will also provide a boost to our cherished village hall that we are all working so hard to improve."

The Last King of Scotland will be shown at 7.30pm on Wednesday. For more information, email tansleyfilmclub@googlemail.com.
