CLASSIC car enthusiasts are in for a treat at Hope Valley Rotary Club's annual charity vintage transport extravaganza.
Rotary members are confident the event can survive the credit crunch and rising fuel costs due to its excellent reputation.

There will be several awards including competitions to decide the best working classic car, best in show and best car entered by a Rotarian.

Organiser Michael Dungworth said: “The economic downturn has had no obvious effect on entries in either the car or the motorcycle classes and all the indications are that this year’s show will be a great success.”

For competition entrants, a 30-mile fun drive will leave Carriages Restaurant in Newhaven at 9.30am.

Contact Karina Guarino on 01298 84528 to get involved.

The exhibition will begin at Bamford Recreation Ground at noon on Sunday.

All profits will be split between Edale Mountain Rescue Team and MacMillan Cancer Care.

For more information call Chris Kraushaar on 01629 812344.
