LEGENDARY folk star Shirley Collins will give a lecture at Bakewell Arts Festival about her epic journey across America with musicologist Alan Lomax.
With the help of actor Pip Barnes, Shirley will recreate scenes from the pair’s travels, through words, drama and song.

The event is a dramatised version of Shirley’s new biography America Over the Water, which is part travelogue, part adventure story and part romance.

Shirley will appear at the Medway Centre in Bakewell on Saturday August 16 at 7.30pm.
