Roger Michell's moving comedy Venus is the lastest movie being screened by Darley Dale Film Society.
The film is a funny, saucy, poignant and moving comedy about two aged actors (Peter O’Toole and Leslie Phillips), who spend most of their time mulling over their past careers, reading the obituaries and bickering over their pills and medication.

Their lives are turned upside down when a young, attractive niece pitches up on their doorstep to stay.

O’Toole gives a great performance when he takes the teenager under his wing, but is surprised to discover how very little he actually knows now that his own life is drawing to a close.

The screening takes place this evening at the Whitworth Centre in Darley Dale.

Guest tickets cost £4 and can be ordered from Chris Strawford (01629 735883) or Ed Runham (01629 732898). Doors open at 7pm film screened at 7.45pm.
