TRIUMPHANT Wirksworth rockers are celebrating after winning the finals of a festival contest.
Serotonin beat stiff competition at the Y Not Festival Battle of the Bands final to secure the chance to open the event held at Pikehall, on August 1.
The five-piece went down a storm at the Lime Kiln pub in Wirksworth, with their set of rock and blues inspired tracks.
Drummer Joe Cooper said: "We all knew that it was going to be hard work from the beginning; we have practised really hard to prove to ourselves that we could do it.
"We didn't expect to win or even get as far as we did. We were against some very talented musicians who knew their instruments inside out and had a really good stage presence.
"It was a surprise every time we won a heat in the competition and a lot of pressure was put on us not knowing who we were up against next or if we would be out of our depth.
"It was such a rush and an amazing feeling knowing the audience appreciated our songs we had written in the band.
"I can only say that we were overwhelmed with the support from our fans and can't wait to see where Serotonin's future will take us next. We would like to say thank you to our promoters Peak Promotion for the advertisement and all our fans for being there."
