Musicians will be heading to the woods on Saturday for an acoustic outdoor showcase.
The first ever acoustic music night in Wirksworth's Stoney Wood, the former Stoneycroft Quarry, is set to take place.

Organiser Chris Bristow said the wood and the rock face behind made the setting a perfect a natural amphitheatre.

He added: "Bring a picnic and a blanket, and come and listen to local musicians play in this beautiful place."

Music will kick off at 5pm with songs and tunes from Dave, George and Ella.

Other acts to perform include Neil and Julie Smith, Miles Halpin and five-piece Fear of Flying.

The evening will end at 11pm with an open music session around the fire pit with Rob Gill, Brian Boothby and others.

Mellow and chilled sounds will also be on offer at the top of Stoney wood at the Wild Cherry Cafe from 4pm until 7pm.
