Beeley village’s memento of the Queen’s Coronation was marked with the unveiling of a brand-new public seat in 1954.
The ceremony was held on the village green under the Prince of Wales Tree.
Mrs Mary Hutchinson, the oldest living female in Beeley at the time, was tasked with performing the ceremony to an eager and enthused audience.
Watching Mary enjoy the new bench are (left to right) Ann Towndrow, Michael Marsden, Stuart Rutherford, Heather Gilbert, Doris Parker, Raymond Jeffreys and Mr Leslie Cantrill.
