Think of ballet and tap dancing in the Matlock area and think of a name. In the 1980s, only one came readily to mind - the Elizabeth Chamberlain School of Dancing.
This picture of Elizabeth with her pupils is taken from photographer Ron Duggins’ 1980s archive, as were the other two pictures in this week’s Memory Lane.
Elizabeth began dancing at the age of five when she and her mother used to travel from their home in Darley Dale for lessons in Derby.
Many of her students went on to make names for themselves, but Mrs Chamberlain always took great care of her ‘baby’ dancers.
In her spare time she was an examiner and travelled to many different parts of the world.
