a smiling Princess Anne brightened everyone’s day in 1982 when she dropped in to Darley Dale and Holloway for flying visits.
First port of call was the Greenaway Workshop, where she met the disabled workers who were being taught various craft skills. Her helicopter then went on to fly over Holloway where she laid the foundationn stone of the new extension at the Florence Nightingale Memorial Hall, under the supervision of Peter Turner and Alan Higton.
The Princess Royal also chatted with Girl Guides, Cubs and senior citizens before flying off to Derby – 30 minutes late.
These excited young Cubs, pictured, look in awe of their royal visitor.
Dressed smartly in their caps and Scouting neckerchiefs the smiling youngsters had a chance to speak to the princess .
