Sunday School memories will come flooding back for many when looking at these two lovely photographs brought in by Matlock resident Janet Pinder.
The pictures were taken at Imperial Road Methodist Sunday School in Matlock.
The top picture was taken in 1949 shows the youngsters dressed in their Sunday best clothes.
On the back row is Maureen Greatorex, Mary Mellows – the Sunday School teacher – and Mary Jones.
On the front row is Joan Bennet, Janet Harrison (now Pinder), Pam Tudge and Janet Rice.
The bottom photograph was taken in 1950 and shows pupils dressed up for the school’s nativity.
It shows on the back row Doreen Townsend, teacher Mrs Heath, Ann Gladwin, teacher Richard Johnson, Freda Birket, Mary Jones, Maureen Saunders, John Heath, Ruth Mellows, Pauline Thornhill and on the front row is Barry Boden, Joan Bennet, Janet Harrison, Michael Heath and Harold Birket.
Mrs Pinder said she still had the bible given to her at the Sunday School classes.
She said: “We had to go whether we liked it or not but we did enjoy it actually..
“I can still remember all these people and I still see most of them. We always dressed in our best clothes then changed them as soon as we got home.
“They were happy days.”
