SCOUTS and Girl Guides got together to pose for this photo that is thought to have been taken sometime in the early 1950s.

Belonging to Matlock resident Beryl Findon, she says it was snapped during an annual get together of youngsters from across the Dales.

It was taken at the country house, Cromford Court, in Matlock Bath.

Mrs Findon, who is 85-years-old, was an assistant cub mistress at the time and was helping out.

She said: “It was a conference that was used to go to once a year, it was for the Scouts and Girl Guides of the surrounding area.

“It was run from the Friday night to the Sunday night and for those who had travelled quite a distance they used to give them accommodation.

“I don’t remember that much about them because it was such a long time ago but I do remember that I really enjoyed them.”
