Derbyshire students have again achieved key stage three results well above the national average, with two schools in our area doing particularly well.
Lady Manners School in Bakewell and Highfields School in Matlock finished among the top schools in the county in the average points score table.
At Lady Manners School, more than 89 per cent of pupils achieved the benchmark standard of level five or above.
And the school's average point score was 39, much higher than the national average of 34.9.
Highfields School pupils performed excellently in all three core subjects, in particular in science where 91 per cent of pupils finished at level five or higher.
The key stage three exams judged 14-year-old pupil's performance and progress.
Cllr Alan Charles, county council member for schools, said: "Derbyshire schools have consistently performed above the national average at key stage 3 since the league tables began in 2002.
"Derbyshire's pupils, teachers and governors have worked very hard to achieve these fantastic results and I'd like to congratulate everyone involved."
