The three handy guides are a lifeline to me and many of my fellow travellers around Derbyshire, whether rambling or out and about visiting towns and villages.
As a non-driving rambler, I regularly use buses to get out into the Derbyshire countrysi
de and beyond and these guides are vital in being able to find out the best bus routes at any time of day, anywhere.
We don't all have computers or internet access and so we reply on having these books with us if we need or want to change plans while out.
Bus stops used to show full timetables but now they only show when the bus will come, not when it arrives at your destination, so these booklets are vital to ensure your connections.
Derbyshire and the Peak Park is full of walkers who are being
encouraged to get the bus and to remove these timetables, I feel, is a bad idea.
If the timetables are going because they are not cost effective, then charge a fair market price for them. I'm sure they would sell.
I have written to DCC's public transport unit to urge them to think again and I would encourage everyone who uses the booklets to do the same in the hope they will remain.
