Madam,
John N Robinson and D Anthony (Mercury letters Feb 14) are sadly out of touch with reality if they see Matlock Area Climate Action Forum as being "a mere handful of fanatics" bent on "enjoying their own narrow lives."
The whole world is aware that climate change is occurring and the uncomfortable fact is that some curtailments of individual choice are becoming essential for the wellbeing of us all and of future generations.

And I would like to suggest to Mr Robinson that there are many, many ways to live a physically and mentally healthier life that don't involve huddling round an energy guzzling patio heater.
