Sixty years of Valentines
Madam,
Regarding your opinon piece in the Matlock Mercury last week headlined A love hate relationship about sending slushy CDs, tacky singing cards on Valentine's Day.
My dear wife and I have been together since 1948 – courting six years and married 54 – 60 years this year and have never failed to send each other a Valentine card and a slushy present.
The first one in 1948 was a vinyl record of Frank Sinatra's The things we did last summer.
