Madam,
I would like to apologise to the voters of Matlock St Giles and Tansley for the delay in thanking you for your support and votes in the district council by-election following the death of Tony Rosser.
Before Tony's death Barry and myself had booked our annual holiday commencing the day after the election.
The by-election was called in a hurry to avoid unnecessary expenditure and inconvenience to the taxpayers of Matlock St Giles and Tansley.
This meant that unfortunately I was unable to visit as many people as I would have wished.
Tony was a good friend of mine and I found it difficult at times to canvass so soon after his death.
Thank you for giving me your trust and faith as your new district councillor.
As your councillor I will do my utmost to serve everyone regardless of politics.
I have always said voices have to be heard before and not after the event. So please contact me with your concerns or ideas.
Cllr Cate Hopkinson
