Madam,
Arthur Nicholson and family would like to take the opportunity to thank all the services who assisted in his rescue from the River Derwent on Saturday.
In particular we would like to thank Amanda Whyte for her prompt action which without a doubt saved his life.

Not only did she hold onto him during his ordeal in the water, but comforted him until help arrived.

We would also like to thank her partner for alerting the services and to the two anonymous gentlemen who assisted Amanda.

Thanks to you all, Arthur is now back home with his family.

Arthur and Carol Nicholson
