A fund–raising event has helped raise £2,000 for a stillbirth charity.
Local ladies Eleanor Rice, Lucy Brookes and Libby Barton hosted an event at the Black Hippo to raise money for the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity (Sands), after suffering still births themselves.
There was a charity raffle with prizes donated from local businesses, face painting for the children, a total of nine live bands playing, a barbecue and an ice cream stall.
Eleanor said: “We are overwhelmed by the support we have received from so many local people for this, it feels great to be doing something so positive.”
The organisers gave their thanks to Stanley Fearn’s, Steph Walsh, the Black Hippo and Matlock Meadows for their help on the day.
They also thanked the musicians – Ben Woodward, Mark Haworth, Catching Kate, Andy Carr, The Tagged, Dean Concannon, Exile, Outflying and Doghouse – who played on the day and Mark Haworth for the loan of his sound equipment and for sorting the sound out all day.
