Rotarians have helped a dedicated couple complete a major fundraising drive to provide a high-tech health clinic in Africa.
A generator, bought at Bakewell agricultural and farm supplier Torne Valley, has been donated by Bakewell Rotary Club to Geoffrey and Julie Henson who have been leading a project to build a clinic in the Jokadu District of the River Gambia.

The generator, costing £900, has been shipped to the village of Bakang where it will be used as a backup to clinic's solar power panels.

The clinic has been build over the past four and a half years and was
officially opened by Dr Abu Bakar Gaye, the minister of health for the Gambia, at the end of last year.

Geoffrey said: "Rotary has not only supported us financially but they have also given us a lot of encouragement with the work we have done and shown a lot of interest."
