WALKERS have a new-look path to tread in Wirksworth after resurfacing work was completed this week.
The well used footpath, from Cemetery Lane in Wirksworth to Bolehill, provides a link between the two communities but has become damaged over the years.

Derbyshire County Council's countryside service has been working with Bolehill Improvement Group and Wirksworth town council on the improvements.

BTCV Enterprise volunteers also help install new gates and metal public footpath finger posts.

County council's cabinet member for environmental services Brian Lucas said: "We are pleased to have been able to help get this well used path back in good condition.

"This has been a real team effort between Derbyshire County Council, the Bolehill Improvement Group, BTCV and Wirksworth Town Council."
