AN AWARD-winning television presenter is celebrating after his novel hit the top charts a month after it was launched.
Former Central News presenter Michael Morley from Carsington has just released his crime novel Spider.

The book, about a former FBI profiler who is trying to leave his old life behind him, is set in Tuscany - the place where Michael and his wife Donna married two years ago.

During his time at Central Michael made many award-winning crime programmes in which he interviewed real serial killers and worked with real FBI profilers.

His novel is based on his experiences with these people.

Since the book's launch it has hit the top 50 charts in all major booksellers and supermarkets. It was also number two in the Heatseekers charts, a special book industry chart, meaning it was the second most talked about book in the country and is a best seller in Germany, Italy and Holland.

Michael said: "I'm delighted. Obviously when you right something you hope it is going to be published.

"I have sat in my back garden in beautiful Derbyshire coming up with many of the lines and wondering if it is going to hit print so to see it published in half a dozen languages is very pleasing."
