A sprightly centenarian has marked her milestone birthday in style – with a family bash.
Charlotte Weston celebrated her 100th birthday at Victoria Court in Matlock with a glass of bubbly and a slice of cake – and all her loved ones.

Daughter Christine Wilks, said her mother was most excited about receiving a birthday telegram from the Queen.

She added: "It was a lovely day. She really enjoyed it. She said she would not mind a party every day."

Christine put her mum's longevity down to having a good social life, enjoying walking and drinking lots of tea.

Charlotte, who has three grandchildren and two great grandchildren, has lived in Matlock for over 24 years after moving to the town from Buxton.
