Florists and artists will unite during a village's popular Bank Holiday flower festival.
Ashover Flower Festival – run by Ashover Parish Church – will host works by Ashover Art Group at this year's event, which is running from August 28 to 31.

The art group will display paintings in the Bassett Rooms' upstairs gallery, with a percentage of all sales and donations going to the church's Save Our Spire appeal.

It is the first exhibition by club members, many of whom are new to painting. Their display is free to enter, but donations are welcome.

Group chairman John Wardle said: "I am extremely proud of the effort the members have made to produce paintings for sale and I take a lot of pride in the progress they are all making.

"We hope visitors and local people will take time out to visit this event and the festival."

The flower festival will feature a wide range of beautiful arrangements in the parish church.

On the Sunday there will be a one-off musical service, called Songs of Praise, at 5pm in the church.
