Fruit and vegetables will be on the menu at a Dales housing estate from September, with the launch of a new healthy-eating scheme.
Health bosses have organised a not-for-profit initiative to sell cheap bags of fruit and vegetables on the Hurst Farm estate in Matlock.

The scheme will kick-off with an open day at the Hurst Farm Community Centre on Monday September 1, from 9.30am to 1pm.

There will be food bags on sale, refreshments, smoothies recipe ideas, seed-planting and free food tasters.

Health trainer Rebecca Goodman said: "Customers order their fruit veg or salad bags in advance and collect them on the veg bag day at a cost of £3 per bag.

"You get a lot for you money as it is a non-profit scheme," she added.

Bags will cost £3 each and can be pre-ordered on 01629 581867 or at Matlock Children's Centre.
