High-flying power check comes to Matlock
Patorls will be taking to the skies to check electricity lines in Matlock.
Central Networks is carrying out helicopter flights across the area next week as part of its network inspection.
The patrols will be carried out by a helicopter used to spot potential hazards and highlight areas where work may be needed.
The check-ups begin on Monday and should take two weeks.
Jim O'Sullivan, director of infrastructure services at Central Networks, said: "Taking a bird's eye view of the network enables us to check large areas quickly.
"We pride ourselves on our commitment to our customers, and these patrols form part of our efforts to continually improve the standard of service they receive."
The helicopter will also be on the lookout for trees growing into overhead lines, which can cause problems in stormy weather.
