Pupils clowned around at a Peak District school this week, as part of a special circus skills tuition.
A travelling circus troupe came to Brassington Primary School and taught children the art of plate spinning and how to use hoolahoop rings.

The circus did a performance to the whole school and held a workshop for junior school pupils afterwards.

Headteacher Rachel Bolton said: "They all enjoyed it, and found it exciting and inspiring.

"It allowed them to see how you can enhance skills, and gave them another opportunity to try something really different.

"We try to offer as much variety in the syllabus as possible and absolutely we would want to hold something like this again," she said.
