HORSES and fire fighters took part in an unusual safety training day.
Volunteer firefighters from Matlock attended an equine fire safety day organised by staff at Ladybooth Equestrian Centre in Edale.

This was the first event of its kind in the country.

Training was provided by Harry Paviour, a retired fire officer who specialises in animal fire safety, and qualified staff at the centre.

Janet Hallam from the centre said the day enabled firefighters to become more confident around horses and to practice emergency procedures unique to managing an incident at an equine establishment.
