A TRAVELLING bear helped customers at a Matlock building society raise money for charity.
Britannia Building Society in Crown Square hosted a fun day with help from special guest Brit Bear – the building society's own teddy bear which has travelled to 40 branches.

Almost £300 was raised for the Alzheimer's Society after staff spent the day selling cakes and cards to customers.

Two black and white prints of Matlock one from 1949 and the other 1955 were also auctioned for charity.

Manager Pennie Bradbury said staff wanted to do something a bit different to raise money.

She added: "We were very pleased with how much was raised."
