A former banker and businessman will be ordained as curate of two Dales parishes on Sunday.
David Battison, 47, will serve as a deacon for a year in the Holy Trinity and St Mary's parishes.

Before training for the ministry, David worked for Barclays Bank for over 20 years then successfully ran his own management training firm for five years.

David said: "Making the transition from training consultant to student priest has been a life-changing experience in every way.

"I'm very much looking forward to my future ministry at Holy Trinity and St Mary's."

David will be ordained by the Bishop of Derby, Dr Alastair Redfern.
