The man tasked with ensuring Derbyshire residents feel the positive impact of the 2012 Games believes excellent progress is being made towards his group's seven-point masterplan.
Derbyshire Olympic Legacy Committee published its aims in 2008 - to inspire young people, increase youth participation, develop talent, bolster business, boost tourism, encourage volunteering and expand cultural events in the county.
Chairman Peter Richardson said: "Work has been progressing really well.
"Really and truthfully we have seen great partnership from all our members and we are working together on our ideas.
"We are already seeing some results, such as in business and with the Derbyshire Village Games."
The body includes council officers, sports groups, tourism leaders and Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce.
Mr Richardson added: "For me personally the most important impacts are in two areas.
"I wish to see people in the county who would otherwise not do any exercise stimulated to thinking that exercise is important.
"The other is developing youngsters with talent. It's about getting people who are good at sport to then become very, very good with a bit of extra work and structure in their training," he added.
