A raver suffered injuries to his back, face and wrist after falling 30ft during an illegal party at a disused Dales quarry.
The 21-year-old man plunged over a cliff edge during the rave at Halldale Quarry on Salters Lane in Matlock on Sunday morning.

He landed on his back and could not move after the fall at 5.30am.

A 19-year-old man tried to help him, but slipped and suffered a very deep cut above his eye.

16 members of Derby Mountain Rescue Team rushed to the scene and hauled the 21-year-old up the cliff on a stretcher.

Mountain rescuer Kevin Corcoran said: "He had fallen from the quarry edge while taking part in the rave.

"We put the main casualty on a stretcher with a vacuum mattress and used ropes to get down and support him.

"He and the other man were evacuated by the team Land Rover to a waiting ambulance in Matlock," said Mr Corcoran.

The men were taken to Chesterfield and North Derbyshire Royal Hospital.
Police attended the scene and ordered around 30 party-goers who were still at the site to leave.

Mr Corcoran said: "It was some kind of illegal rave but I'm not sure exactly how many people were there.

"It's the first call we've had out to an incident like this that I'm aware of," he added.

A police spokesman said on Thursday that the 21-year-old raver had a suspected broken wrist and back injuries.

He added: "He's still in hospital getting some treatment and is due to be in for a number of days.

There had been reports of loud music being heard in Matlock earlier that night.

No arrests were made at the party.
