Boats set sail along Cromford Canal with a distinctly autumnal appearance.
The creations had been woven together out of foliage picked from the canal-side during a creative art workshop led by Matlock artist Neo Henry.

The workshops, funded by Derbyshire Dales District Council, took place at Cromford Wharf during Derwent Valley Mills Discovery Days project.

The woven boats were constructed out of flowers, berries, twigs, leaves, rushes and reeds. Neo, who was able to stage the workshop thanks to support from the District Council's Arts Development in the Derbyshire Dales Fund, said: "The foliage is breath-taking at this time of the year and while the woven boats tend initially to attract young people, other generations are drawn in too by an opportunity to make something so beautiful and ephemeral."

After hours of preparation the woven boats were launched together to create a mini flotilla on the canal.
