Voters say yes to referendum

A Peak District parish voted resoundingly in favour of a national referendum on the new EU Treaty.
Baslow and Bubnell villagers organised their own poll on whether there should be a national referendum, and 91 per cent of voters were in favour.

A third of the parish, 324 people, voted said organiser Brian Singleton.

"The referendum process revealed there's considerable outrage and anger amongst our electors at the way the government has abused the democratic process.

"Now the electors have spoken."
