Wirksworth event's call for helpers

VOLUNTEERS are needed to prepare for an acclaimed Dales art festival which takes place this autumn.
Wirksworth Festival is looking for helpers with an interest in visual or performing arts to get involved in the work leading up to and during the 16 day event in September.

Volunteer co-ordinator Tony Spencer, said: "A range of tasks need filling. We would like to find something for anyone who turns up, whether you can just contribute an hour or so over the weekend, or a regular couple of hours a week.

"It's fun and you will be making a contribution to a great community event."

Jobs include, office volunteers – particularly in the weeks leading up to the Art and Architecture Trail weekend on September 6 to 7 – helping at car parking areas, selling trail badges over the weekend, helping trail co-ordinators check in with artists and venues over the weekend, clearing the Market Place after events, selling tea, coffee and snacks and helping at performance events.

The festival is also looking to form a small team to develop sponsorship opportunities.
