New officers are treading the beat in Wirksworth and Middleton.
Derbyshire Constabulary's Bobby of the Year Pc Doug Eyre and Pc Jamie Millard have joined Wirksworth Safer Neighbourhood Team from the Hope Valley and Hathersage team.

Former beat officers Pc Ian Hyde and Pc Andy Smith have now left the team and both new officers say they are keen to maintain and build on the work they did.

The team, which also includes PCSO Sue Lester, will spend their time patrolling the streets and arranging meetings with residents to help solve any issues or concerns.

Current priorities are preventing anti-social behaviour and damage in Wirksworth and targeting nuisance motorists in the Harrison Drive area.

Team Sergeant Jim Thompson said: "Both Doug and Jamie are very dedicated police officers and I am proud to welcome them to the Wirksworth Safer Neighbourhood Team."
