It was a case of stocks and sharing on Saturday at the Sisters Care Centre in Matlock as they held their Christmas fundraising fair.
There was all the traditional stalls such as bric-a-brac, guess the weight of the cake, a tombola and a raffle.
But many enjoyed getting the chance to soak the care home’s matron and manager, Gavin Portier, who spent time in the stocks being the target of countless soggy sponges.
He said: “We raised £635 which was good.
“I was in the stocks for just over an hour- the cold made it a little tough but it was good fun.”
Sisters Care Centre is a registered charity and offers nursing and residential care for elderly people.
