There will be music, food and beer a plenty at an annual event set in an Amber Valley village.

Bands at Crich will run from Saturday, April 30, to Monday, May 2, and include bands of different genres, as well as a beer festival at Crich Tramway Village.

On the Bank Holiday Monday, the Ripley Morris Men will perform from 2pm in the outdoor museum’s period street.

Confirmed bands include Stunt Double playing from 2pm on April 30.

The singing duo consists of Jon Alex, a professional club and corporate entertainer for more than 20 years, and Chris Firminger.

Chris plays guitar in several bands including Firecracker, Dave Berry, Frank White, Julian Jones and Adrian Paris and his own Chris Firminger band. He has also recorded many backing songs for TV programme Pop Idol and has played guitar on the hit single ‘Walk like a Panther’ for Tony Christie and Jarvis Cocker.

On May 1 A Little Jazz (pictured above) will be performing in the Red Lion from 2pm, while folk group Andy Martin and Friends will be playing all day in the Red Lion on May 2.

Several bands will be playing at the bandstand over the three days including Crich Brass, Holymoorside Brass Band, Doveholes Brass Band, Escafeld of Sheffield Brass Band, New Mills Band and Belper Town (wind band).

General Manager at Crich Tramway Village, Dr Mike Galer, said: “The event is growing in popularity each year, and the music from different bands makes for a great atmosphere.”

Local breweries will be represented by the beer on offer in the on-site Red Lion pub. Tramway Mild is a popular favourite. Poets Tipple and Liquorice Alesort are the offerings from Ashover. Other brewers include Gaol Ale, Great Newsome, Intrepid, Matlock, Peakstones and Thornbridge.
