A local equalities and community engagement lead has been awarded the coveted Personal, Fair & Diverse (PFD) Champion Award along with only seven other individuals in the country.
Harinder Dhaliwal, Assistant Director for Engagement at Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, was nominated for the prestigious award by colleagues for her outstanding achievements around inclusion and equality within the NHS.
Harinder has demonstrated an on-going commitment to personalised care through inclusive behaviour which has helped to either improve patient outcomes or create a more accepting workplace. She has also gone the extra mile to engage and encourage staff at Derbyshire Healthcare to promote PFD and help further embed the value.
Harinder said: “I was initially surprised and then very humbled that someone had taken the time to nominate me. It is great to be recognised for my work and I am very privileged to do a job that I really love. I am certainly a better person as a result of the precious people and inspirational stories I encounter in my day to day role. I think this award is an accolade and credit to Derbyshire Healthcare and colleagues.”
An award ceremony has been arranged in London on Wednesday, June 26, where Harinder will be presented with her award.
