Children and adults with disabilities now have the chance to have adventures at Derbyshire County Council’s Lea Green Learning and Development Centre, with the introduction of activity days for people with additional needs.
Activ-ability gives children and adults with physical disabilities, learning difficulties or any additional need the chance to try all sorts of activities, including rock climbing, abseiling, buggy riding and archery.
Participants are welcome to bring their carers, and there are residential and day only options.
Damien Greenhalgh, Derbyshire County Council’s Deputy Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “Activ-ability is a chance for people to challenge themselves, think about their ability, meet new friends and importantly, have lots of fun!
“It’s a great way to try new things and get active. There is a huge range of inclusive activities to try at Lea Green, so I would encourage people to go along, get active and have some fun.”
