As partytime draws nearer, the list of acts for Music in the Park has been announced.
Ten bands have been comfirmed as playing at the event, to be held in Hall Leys park, Matlock, by Maazi Indian restaurant and Zhivago jewellery.
On Saturday, September 1, the day of free festivities will kick off at 11am with a performance from Jamie Haywood, followed by a set from Alex Rennie and band and a Zumba performance.
Jasper In The Company of Others will play at 1pm, followed by David Gibb, Gabhru Punjab De and Drumroots.
At 4:30pm David Lacey will perform, followed by The Re-Entrants and latin music.
The day promises to be a medly of music from all over the world, as well as dance and yoga workshops.
Organiser Irfan Shabir came up with the idea for the event after the success of Movies in the Park with Maazi earlier in the year.
“It gets nearer and nearer and my excitement levels are building – I am really looking forward to it,” he admitted.
Irfan said that he has been approached by many organisations that want to take part in the day, such as the Youth Hostel Association (YHA), which will have a stand.
There will be selection of 40 stalls run by local traders for visitors to choose from, as well as a children’s fair and popcorn sale.
“It’s something that I’m passionate about and something that I feel will be good,” Irfan continued.
“It is going to appeal to a wide audience.”
