A TALENTED teenager hosted a night of entertainment to raise funds for charity.

Amy Horsley, 19, organised the event, called Show ‘Em What We’re Made Of at Anthony Gell School in Wirksworth, which saw dancers, singers and actors raising funds for Help For Heroes.

The night also included a tombola with prizes donated from Derbyshire business Thorntons and a raffle.

Dancer Amy, who hosts a dance class for teenagers in the town, organised the show which involved everything from fund-raising, making costumes, gathering props to producing the show.

She also choreographed dance routines and produced numbers for the show.

The event raised £900 for the charity.

Amy said: “It has always been a dream of mine to put on my own shows and I thought I would go that one step further and raise some money for well deserving charity. I felt Help For Heroes was the right charity as it not only helps our forces but also their families too and it would be my way of saying thank you to all our forces for all there hard work.

“I also tapped into everyone’s talents both onstage and off to make my show such a wonderful evening.”
