Police are appealing for information after thefts from cars in the Hope Valley.

Between 2.30pm and 4.45pm on Saturday, the window of a Volkswagen Golf parked at Furness Quarry in Stoney Middleton Dale was smashed. Thieves searched the car and stole a rucksack containing clothing, a Leatherman pen knife and a first aid kit from within.

On the same afternoon, offenders smashed the window of a blue Vauxhall Corsa that was also parked at the quarry and cash, a Garmin sat nav and a pair of Karrimor walking boots were taken.

Anyone with any information about either incident is asked to contact PCSO Anthony Boswell on 101, quoting crime number 19506/15, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
