Aquabox charity awarded Queen’s accolade at presentation

Aquabox, the charity managed by The Rotary Club of Wirksworth, has been awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

The charity is one of four organisations in Derbyshire fortunate enough to receive the award in 2016. Aquabox provides aid to disaster areas around the world concentrating recently on supplying aid to Syria and Nepal.

The award was presented to the chairman of the Aquabox trustees by The Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire William Tucker, on Friday, July 22.

The Lord Lieutenant was also accompanied by The High Sheriff Mrs Fothergill, together with local dignitaries from both Wirksworth and Matlock.
