The deadline is fast approaching to help mark the very best of Derbyshire.
Judges have announced a 12-strong shortlist of the county’s great and good – and it’s up to the public to decide which person or place deserves a prestigious blue plaque.
This year’s full shortlist features four Dales residents; Derby Telegraph founder Llewellyn Jewitt, businessman John Smedley, children’s author Alison Uttley and world-renowned engineer Sir Joseph Whitworth.
Now in its second year, the blue plaque scheme was set up by Derbyshire County Council to celebrate the important people and places of Derbyshire.
All votes must be in by Monday, August 8. Voting is now open at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/blueplaques
