Bolehill women’s group meets

A women’s group enjoyed a talk at their last meeting.

Barbara Daykin gave a talk to Bolehill Women’s Institute entitled ‘Oh! Mum What have you Done’.

She spoke about her difficult childhood and the voluntary work she has done with children from being a school caretaker to a class room assistant, helping children to read.

She was awarded the MBE in 2003 for voluntary services to education in Derbyshire and gave an amusing account of going to Buckingham Palace to receive her MBE.

Bolehill Women’s Institute meet at 7.15pm in the Methodist rooms, in Wood Street, Wirksworth on the third Tuesday of the month.

The next meeting will be held on June 19, the speakers will be Mrs Jill and Tony Bethell speaking about the Apollo Project, so please make a note in your diary and come and join us for an enjoyable evening.
