Burglars tied up landlord in Derbyshire pub raid

A group of robbers is wanted after a shocking robbery, as they tied up the landlord to steal cash.

Derbyshire police said the robbers stole cash from the Rising Sun in Main Street, Middleton, near Wirksworth, at about 11.20pm on Monday, March 28.

Officers added: "After forcing their way into the pub, the offenders assaulted the landlord and restrained him while they searched and stole a large amount of cash."

Two of the offenders were described as broad and were about six foot. They were wearing black jackets, black hoods and blue or green overalls.

There were possibly two further offenders involved in the robbery.

"Detectives investigating the offence want to hear from anyone who saw suspicious activity or vehicles in the area around the time," added Derbyshire Constabulary.
